At Johnson Controls, I worked on a project to integrate a new widget, "Observations and Recommendations," into our smart building analytics platform, OpenBlue Enterprise Manager (OBEM). This feature delivers intelligent insights by detecting performance and compliance anomalies, summarizing their business impact, and identifying potential root causes. Designed for broad customer use, it also serves as a feeder for comprehensive services like Customer Insights. As a result, the platform’s usability increased by 60% and internal awareness of our research process significantly improved.
Furthermore, we refined the original 45-slide report down to 15 concise slides, ensuring that only the essential information was retained while protecting participants’ identities, images, and quotes. Certain design elements have been limited or blurred to safeguard intellectual property and maintain information sensitivity.
